A NICE PERK

I had to go to the lab yesterday for bloodwork;  11 vials were needed!  I have never had to give so much before but funny thing happened, I felt better for two -three hours afterwards!  Interesting point to share with the doctor when I see her in 2 weeks!  Anyway, when I got home, I finished the quilting on this one.  The binding will happen today!
I even got the latest table runner loaded on and will hopefully feel like taking the 20 mins to quilt this, too!
I also made some body lotion; my body needs some serious moisturizing!  This feels good and is slightly scented with some orange extract.  I need to get some healthy looking skin because I look like I have been in bed for almost a year!!!

  1. Pretty quilts! Weird about feeling better after giving up 11 vials of blood - I'd have to take a nap I think.

  2. YOW!!! ELEVEN vials. Well, at least you got a few hours of feeling better for all that.

The orange body cream must smell heavenly.

We were at the Amish home goods store yesterday and I treated myself to some lavender body butter. I haven't tried it yet, but I imagine it will make me very happy (and hopefully a bit sleepy).

  3. That is a lot of blood. I think the most I've done is five or six!
Your quilting has me itching to get into the studio - tomorrow is supposed to rain all day... so maybe then

  4. Have you heard of cupping therapy? My husband has done that many times when he feels that things just aren't right in his body or he has pain. It helps with blood circulation and drawing out toxins. I wonder if giving blood, especially that many vials, has the same benefit. Although you have low iron, people who have iron overload give blood in order to reduce iron stores.

I bought some homemade natural skin lotion and face cream while we were in Amman and it is the best I've ever had. Was having such a problem with front of my legs itching like crazy, but it's not a problem anymore. And the other drugstore face cream I was using was causing my eyes to water so much. Problem is, don't know when we will go back to Amman again so I can get more. :/

Have a good day. Happy quilting, and whatever else you might get up to.

  5. I bought my first ever bottle of body lotion just yesterday and I hate it. I'm starting to look like a dried up old prune and need something but I can see I am going to have to do what you did and make my own. We've got a day off from bathroom work because the chimney guy is coming and I'm going down into the soap room and whip something up. I'm thinking I may need some bath bombs too. 71 is not looking pretty...lol.

  6. You make body lotion, too? Is there no end to your talents?

  7. When I saw the endricinolgist last winter they took 10 viles of blood. They had to stick me several times to get it because my veins kept stopping. I didn't feel better afterward though!
I'm thinking that lotion sounds like it smells wonderful.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  8. Gosh!! Eleven vials of blood!! Let us know what your doctor says about feeling better afterwards! Reminds me of how people would be bled in olden times. Might be something to it. The quilts are lovely and it is so great that you felt so good to work on them! A true blessing!! xo

  9. Yay for feeling better!! But if that was me I would be passing out! Hope they can right all the wrongs and get you back to, as we say in my family, Norman!
