Socks that Rock!

 I have a pair of completed, on-the-feet socks!!!!
This yarn is from the swap;  Dashing Dachs yarn, SW Merino/nylon in the Yoda colorway.
Worked on #1 needles over 64 stitches.  I love the way the lightening streaks across my feet!
 The rib is just right on a pair of legs.  The two socks did a good job of matching without any attempts to do so on my part.
 The other side just has an ankle strap with lots of green showing.  Perfect in every way!
There is enough for a square on my sock blanket and a baby hat for the hospital!
And wonder of wonders, Bill and I went on a lunch date to our fav restaurant.
We sat in companionable silence soaking up the beauty in our view, we talked, laughed and remembered how much we could enjoy a meal alone together.
We even got to see an Osprey scoop up a fish and fly away with it!

Swap Pleasures!

I received my Swap partner's package in today's mail!
It contains a beautiful earth toned skein of SW Merino/Nylon sock yarn
from the etsy shop, Dashing Dachs,
in the Yoda colorway.
Also, my red/white/blue item is a cushioned notions bag.
And the button is handmade/felted by Kim;
you will see it on one of my project bags in the near future!

Thank you to Kathy B for hosting this swap;
it not only was a fun kick-off for summer,
it was a nice way to meet new friends!

Ups and Downs!

 The eclipse was a complete washout for us;  we were so disappointed not to even get a glimpse of things because the thunder/lightening storms were so fierce!
 But when the evening mail came-I had a package of joy!  My swap package came from Debbie of Araignees Tangled Web!  Not only were the towel and pot holders beautiful, they were in the colors that make my heart sing!   The cards and notes and the soap are always a hit!   How nice to have such generosity in a swap!
 Yesterday I woke up with pink eye-I thought it was appropriate they put me in the pink room!!!   I sat and knitted for almost two hours.  Good thing for knitting!
Home gave me a bit of time to do this-a different kind of quilting for me but it is working out!   I wanted to quilt bee hives in the plain blocks so I drew one and cut around it to make template and then use the air erasable pen to trace it on my blocks-it is working well.   I put bees and fleur de lis in the corners.  (Napoleons idea of bee representational art work!)
