GREEN FRONT AND CENTER

I set up several layers at one time
and cut out all 32 pieces needed for each of three blocks!
I will know after I complete these, if I want to make a whole quilt!

I make some new yarn to make this sweater
except mine will be the short sleeved version.
I am using Drops Cotton/Merino which is 50% of each.
It is a bit splitty but feels just right for a sweater!
And as I knit away, I must admit tears--not from frustration
but from grief all afresh;  Ethan loved my stitch counter and would scoop it from my knitting shelf to click it as fast as he could and smile when he would click more than his last attempt!  I'd give anything to have him driving me crazy with the frantic clicking again....

  1. I had to scroll back and find why you were grieving Ethan. Oh, Cindy, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the pain for your family.

  4. You know I love green!

That's the thing about grief - it hits you at the oddest moments with the smallest things. It shows just how much those little moments are important to us

  5. Beautiful quilt pieces and sweater. Grief is both ugly and relieving. The memories are beautiful and sweet, but it hurts so bad. We driving down I-29 right now in Missouri and Dennis just said we should call Mom and let her know we're on the road again. Then we just looked at each other. I know it's not the same as you, but I do understand a little.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Grief comes at you at the most unexpected times. I just heard someone say that it never leaves us, we just grow around it. I believe that. I still find myself sobbing in the tub sometimes over the loss of my parents. It just comes out of the blue.
Lovely projects btw. I'm really liking all that green.

  7. Nothing I can say will ease the pain, but I wish peace for you in these moments. Again you have sent me into a need to pick up a pattern! Love that new block you are using. And the sweater is going to be gorgeous!

CLOSE TO THE FINISH LINE

I figured out how I could add the diamonds for the reverse star points--the corners were a ton of fun but they did have a good finish!  I do...
