I don't think I posted the final pics of the black walnut bowl!
It is 4" wide and 5" high.
The chipped out bit became a 'design feature'
once it is sanded out and smooth! I'm glad I didn't give up on it!
The Christmas quilt is now washed and dried
and put away until December!
I am very glad to say all of my hand stitching survived beautifully!
I decided this quilt needed a bit of enlarging with borders;
they are just right what it needed! I will stitch them on
when I get home from a bit of a trip-
I'm heading north to visit my parents
and to share my Mom's 90th birthday party!
The bowl is gorgeous; I’m glad you stuck with it! The Christmas quilt is beautiful and has a lovely vintage vibe; I can hardly wait until you can use it. The borders are a good choice on the qov quilt. And — bon voyage! Give hugs for us. Love you. -Marsel
ReplyDeleteThat's one beautiful bowl! Safe travels and enjoy your visit.
ReplyDeleteThe bowl turned out beautifully. The color of the finishing is gorgeous. With the little "indent" it will make a great yarn bowl.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your Mom and safe travels to you.
beautiful bowl. I do love black walnut. My poor two trees that came down during the hurricanes are still lying here in a skeleton state. That wood was too hard to cut up.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
Your bowl is so pretty and unique. Congrats on getting the Christmas quilt done. I tend to neglect my quilts once they need the binding sewed back. Safe travels and enjoy your time with your parents. :)
