Here is the almost finished upholstery job we did! This is a child's sized kids recliner that has gone through all of the kids but it looked too loved. My Mom volunteered us to do the job! It is going to look good but it isn't what I would call a bundle of fun!
I was whooped with all of the bending so had the great idea of working with it on the table!
We started with two yards of fabric and a plan...I chalk out the pieces to be sure all of them will fit before I commit to cutting.
Here is the before pic of the chair! I do the math to measure all of the units then draw them out. The job went well enough until we needed the staple gun and my Dad's old one didn't work so we borrowed my brother-in-law's (he lives next door) and he brought up one for us. Un fortunately, that one was a dud, too! The project cannot be finished today so I will leave it for my two nieces, who are handy with tools, to finish what I started!
When you're free I have a full size chair that needs recovered!! LOL. I know I could do a decent job, but I'm too scared to pay a ton of money for the fabric and then screw it up.
ReplyDeleteThat is a BIG job to take on (even though it is a little chair).
ReplyDeleteWhew, that’s a job! -Marsel
ReplyDeleteUpholstery is one of those crafts to be admired from afar. It looks like really hard work. A recliner is yet another level of madness. I can see why the professionals charge so much money. You all did an amazing job. Very impressive!
