Here is the glamour shot of the latest bowl from 1/2 a log of Magnolia. I've already started a different kind of bowl
from the other half!
I only have this much of the quilt to finish and it WILL happen this morning! I keep getting distracted by the lathe!
And the grand- fur-baby is also here for a few days
while our son is away for business!
And I leave you with this pretty photo of a Roselle bloom! The stalk is 8 feet high--I had to zoom in to be able to see it!
Beautiful bowl and the doily is very nice too! I've never heard of a Roselle...but I see it's a type of Hibiscus!
ReplyDeleteA very nice, eclectic mix! -Marsel
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of beautiful things in your house. Well, technically, I guess the flower is OUT of your house, but you know what I mean. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll with those doilies. I was on a doily kick years ago but silly me put them in the attic when we moved here and some mice decided they would make a nice nest...lol.
ReplyDeleteThe doily is so whispery beautiful. 😊 And I'd never thought about magnolias as a wood source!
ReplyDeleteThat bowl is beyond gorgeous!! You are so talented in so many mediums! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the other half of the wood.
ReplyDeleteThe bowl turned out beautifully. Perfect to hold little things like coins or keys. The doily is great too. Very delicate. I've also never heard of a roselle. It's so pretty and I love the color.
