A DIVERSION

The binding was attached, and the quilt folded up to go to the label lady from QOV.  I will be delivering it next week.
The stars and swirls go well together
and are an easy panto to use.
I'm staying at my sons for a few days;  and though it looks like we have gone into the everglades, it is just a short walk from their home.  So much of the wetlands have been filled for new housing and it is a foolish way to build.  When the wetlands are destroyed, so is the water table.  This is an old neighborhood and the builders maintained a balance between the low, water areas and the places they built houses.  Much smarter!
We also saw so many birds-storks, herons and egrets to name a few!  The tree cover was so dense,
I couldn't catch a photo of any of them!

  1. Congratulations on the finish. Couldn't agree more on the short-sighted- ness of builders. So glad your son found a good place.

  2. A beautiful, beautiful quilt. And what a cool place to walk. I'm glad the builders were using wisdom and common sense.
    Blessings,

  3. Perfect finish for Veteran's Day!
We have to fight continually to keep them from building on the wetlands around the bay. They have been wanting to put several condo complexes right in the middle of several critical areas around town. The signs all went down announcing the hearings so I'm thinking they must not have succeeded in their foolish endeavor. At least I hope so.

  4. Beautiful job on the quilting.

When we moved to east Orlando it was mostly swamp and cattle ranches. Not anymore. There is actually a DOLLAR STORE on the corner! (And a bazillion million dollar cracker boxes). (And they wonder why McCulloch Rd. floods. Gee could it be because you filled in the swamp?

The year we left we had two rattlesnakes in our yard. In 21 years we had never seen one.

  5. It's great that the builder left some of nature in the mix. They all should practice that plan! The quilt is lovely... as always. your work is amazing. Enjoy your visit!!

PRETTY STRIPS

Yes, they do look good and play together well!   It is very relaxing to stitch them but I did find that I have to trim  all of the 2 1/2...
