MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK...

Wind.  LOTS of wind.
Little sculptures like this one had a workout yesterday!
The temps were right and we hit the trail picking up branches and piles of leaves on the acreage around the house!
A good job done.
Dad came out and watched for a bit--it is hard for him to watch and not join in.
We all learned yard work by working right beside him...
I played with yarn to recuperate!
I've had quite a workout this week and loved every minute.

(I became a grandma 24 years ago today!  Love you, David)

  1. I'm with Dad. It is hard to sit and watch others work when you can't help. That's how I've been feeling this week watching The Mister doing the big spring cleanup outside. Yarn therapy does help. It's been nice being able to pick up the needles for a bit here and there.

  2. A memorable phone call just after midnight, wasn’t it?! He’s kept us on our toes right from the beginning — in the best of ways! -Marsel

  3. I became a Grandma 21 years ago today! Our oldest, Kyleigh turned 21 today. We've been texting each other this morning between things at church. She's in Montana in her third year of college. Hard to believe it's been 21 years.
Your parents are ever so grateful for everything you girls are doing for them and what fun to do with with your sisters. I can imagine how frustrated your Dad is. Dennis sure would be. He keeps asking Mandy if he can mow their yard once in awhile to help out. I really think he misses mowing. :-)
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  5. Happy Birthday to your grandson. When my husband was really sick, I could tell it hurt him to watch other people tend to our yard.

  6. Somehow i missed a whole week of your posts - so I'm catching up now.
It's definitely yard clean-up time here. I've picked up all the branches/cleared away all the dead stems. I'm resisting the urge to clean out all the leaves just yet - one more week and it should be safe enough for all my favourite little invertebrates!
