A NEED FOR COZY!

I finished crocheting all of the blocks for the afghan!
 It is wide and long!
 And very warm!
Since is was 20* when we awakened on Sunday morning and stayed in the 20's until 2:00 when it was all the way up to 40*!
And it was that cold again last night.
But there is still work to do....all the ends need to be woven in AND I will be crocheting several rows around the whole.  No, I don't know what stitch yet but I'll know when I start to experiment!

TWO FINISHES

The amazing Granny Square yarn by Red Heart
resulted in a very pleasing afghan!
I added several rows of borders and am pleased with the results.  Now to concentrate on the hexagons again!
The gingerbread quilt is all done!
I used the same fabric as the backing for the binding!
What quilting project will I work on next?!

SUNFLOWER LAP AFGHAN

It's a wrap on the sunflower afghan!
It measures about 42"  52";  a generous lap size.
I made a border with the colors of the flowers using a slip stitch embroidery stitch.  The border lays flat and that is important!
It is now folded up and ready to give to my sick friend this week!

How I Know It's Fall

I know it's Fall because I get the deep need to purge!
I clean corners and drive away piles;
I organize shelves and get rid of ballast!  I had such an intense 4 hours yesterday
 that accomplished so much!
It felt good throughout the day, too.
I did take a few breaks to make a pile of my end 1/2 motifs.
I am going to be able to start making rows now.
I sent an order in for some sock yarn because I am without skein!
 Yikes.
They are still out of this color!
I have made more than a pair of socks a month and would like to keep up the momentum!
This is the usual scene in the evening when I knit in bed before falling asleep!
I am slogging through the second sock for Bill.
I think it is the color that is boring is all.
 I like COLOR!
See the bag of trail mix behind Nyki?
I add a small bag of dark M & M's to enhance the flavor of sweet! lol
Let's go to the water's edge today!
 5 x 7" watercolor postcard

The picture yesterday was from Dee's Blog;
I believe it is labeled 'under the railroad bridge'.
The water is the Delaware River.
(correct me if I mistaken, Dee!)

Blending Perfectly

I dug through the yarn bin and found the leftover Chroma
and it blends perfectly with the yarn I just finished up!
 Hooray!
The two yarns are both the same weight, single ply
and with a bit of a sheen and also jewel tones.
I'm glad because I want this to work out for a beautiful afghan.

ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

Lena and I made some hats today.   She helps a lot, as you can imagine! The morning rain let up so I went out to plant in my raised garden b...
