HALF A LOG BOWL

I used half of the log to make this bowl. 
 It is the Bradford Pear wood that my grandson brought to me.
It was reputed to be a great wood to work with 
and it didn't disappoint!
I have the bowl sanded and the first layer of sanding sealer on. First thing today, I will give it a good sanding and another coat.  Then I have to head about an hour away to a doctor's appointment-not so much fun!  But I invited a friend to come along and we will go to lunch together and do a bit of Hobby Lobby shopping to sweeten the deal!

    That's turning out nicely! I suspect there is a lot of Bradford Pear wood around. I made the mistake of planting two in the front yard of my old house when they were popular and they were as awful as they say they are.
