A LITTLE WORK AND A LITTLE PLAY

Mom and I cleaned out some storage areas that needed attention and enjoy lightening the load.  We also discover things that are good for a walk down memory lane.
I also volunteered to finish this pbn for Mom who didn't enjoy doing it herself--no sacrifice on my part!

Today is a doctor appointment and then home for a rest.

  1. I am so far behind in reading your posts. I am sorry. I just went back and read that you are in NY with your parents and it is snowing! Wow! I know that was a change for you! How nice that you can be there with them while your brother and sister in law (or is it the other way around) have surgery issues to take care of. I am sure your parents are loving having you there. I scrolled back and saw that you made a lovely vase from a crape myrtle tree trunk! They do have such interesting wood patterns...so that was a good choice! I saw a beautiful star studded quilt too. I didn't have time to go back farther, but I will try to do better at keeping up if I can. It seems that lately life has just been too busy. Oh, and your comment on my blog about exploring that road to Bardin when we have more time would be good. I thought of that also, at least the section BEFORE we got to the dirt road. Bardin was farther back. Route 309 C or something like that, off of route 100 is where we were, if you want to go for a ride there. It is a pretty ride. I would like to stop at the grocery store there and see if there's any "atmosphere" of the community...or a shadow of the Bardin Booger hiding around there anywhere. LOL. Have a lovely time in NY. Try to stay warm!! It's chilly here again!

  3. Finding little treasures is the fun side of cleaning out a closet or storage space. I'm sure your parents enjoy and appreciate having you there to help with that task.

  4. Cleaning out my parent's house to sell it was excruciatingly difficult but there were those moments when we found things that reminded us of the good days and we had a good laugh. I think about how my kids are going to deal with cleaning out this one. They will definitely have a good laugh at how much yarn I have hidden all over the place!
Beautiful PbN. You'll have that finished in no time.

  7. It makes it so much more fun to clean and organize things like that when you do it with someone else. Love that you were able to walk down memory lane together.
    Blessings and hugs,

WOOD ON WEDNESDAY

I used a small branch to make a little pot with a lid.  As is my style, I like to leave some of the bark on for interest! A very cute little...
