All of the Spring flowers are making an appearance with the rise in temperatures and the glimpses of sunshine!
These are Glory of the Snow or White Squill.
Primrose.
Daffodils (no longer under the weight of the snow!)
Another variety of daffodils to welcome the early bluebirds.
The Forsythia bushes are opening their flowers!
We brought a few branches in the house to enjoy their color
apart from the rain!
The river across the road from my parents' home is to the top of their banks! The current is fast and still carries too much debris, so there is a 'no water craft' order in effect.
Those first signs of spring growth is always a little thrill. We do have a maple tree with buds, but I haven't seen any signs yet of green popping up through the ground yet. Maybe this week.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Ohio. When the forsythia bloomed, we always said winter was over! Lovely photos! Sure hope that river doesn't flood your parents' home!! Looks treacherous in that photo! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm visiting from Terri D! I've never referred to my flowers as yard treasures, I love that!!! The daffodils are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThose daffodils sure perked up when they thawed out! That's quite the display.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty views.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started reading and saw the daffodils and forsythia, I had to remember that you are still visiting in NY, and not in Florida! The daffodils are so pretty. I wish you could bring some home with you. Yes, that river looks very high. I do pray it isn't in danger of flooding where you are. That's always a big spring concern up north. And we are still SO dry here. We had a rainy week, but you wouldn't know it now. I hope you have a pleasant time with your family there. Stay warm and safe!!
ReplyDeleteWe had rain fairly steadily over the past several days. The high river can be a worry. Have they ever had flooding? I love the sight of all of the spring flowers, especially the daffy's. I do love them.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Oooh - primrose... I've always been worried they wouldnt make it here - but I might have to give them a try!
ReplyDeleteHow nice for you to get to enjoy the spring bulbs that don’t do their thing in Florida! Lovely! -Marsel
