My sewing machine shows this message every few seconds which makes it very hard to do any stitching so I took it to my repairman. It was an hour drive there and then another one to home so the trip was tiring. The good news is he is pretty sure it is only a mechanical problem and not a hard drive one
which is encouraging!
I finished this C2C (corner to corner) blanket using a DK yarn
using a G hook; it is 40" x 48".
The Granny Square blanket is almost out of yarn but more is on its way! I am going to start stitching this by turning it after every round because I read it will help to keep it from going wonky.
We will see!
Just a few blocks from the sewing machine store is a WalMart so I stopped in to buy some more Mandala yarn in DK but the only cake they had was the one I already used for a blanket so I opted for this kind which is a worsted weight one.
I used a much bigger hook, an I hook (5.5mm) , which gives
a nice drape to this new C2C blanket!
Sending positive thoughts for a good outcome for the machine. I've never had a digital machine before and that message would have scared me to death.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting granny hack. I'll be interested to see if it works for you.
I need a sticker of that sewing machine message to stick on my forehead. I'll probably be needing more than a few moments though.
ReplyDeleteI'd never thought about a sewing machine repairman. Oh my...
ReplyDeleteSorry about the machine, I know you'll miss having it ready to go but hopefully it's an easy fix. The turning the granny blanket after every round does help. I've done it for a few years now. Good luck! I like the colors of your blankets. Very coastal. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,

Beautiful work! I'm glad the sewing machine will be an easier fix than anticipated (fingers crossed!). Do please keep us posted! xo
ReplyDeleteHope you get your machine back quickly. You've used such beautiful yarn colors in those projects.
ReplyDeleteEek! I need to get my machine in, I might take it down this week and then pick it up on my way past the shop on a quick trip to Paducah with friends. At least I can do some quilting while it's gone and use my travel machine if needed. I might need to finish another top to give myself enough to do!! Love all the visit photos and of course all your lovely projects. Love the new yarn.
