50 YEARS

After shedding our wedding day duds,

 we enjoyed several hours at the beach!

I enjoyed finishing the first coral beach sock. (Yarnalia Stormy in the Cherry Blossom colorway but I like my name better)

The ocean was turbulent--

wonderful to relax to the rhythm of the surf.

The colors of my latest blanket in Mandala yarn perfectly matched the colors of the sea and sky

especially as the day drew to a close. 

 You can see that the crowds were not a problem for us!

What a beautiful day we enjoyed together!  

 

MAY DAY 1976-2026

50 years ago today....

Yesterday, I finished the frame quilting on this QAL from Alycia and only have the binding to do.

And I layered the April FQC table runner and just did stitch-in-the-ditch on my regular machine.  I did get the binding on this one.  

 

ANNIVERSARY JOYS

We had a lovely lunch at Corky Bell's on the St Johns River; 

 the weather couldn't have been better!

After lunch, we popped over to see Matthew and Will

 and Maverick, too! 

 (And I learned that puppies love balls-even ones made of yarn!  I stepped away from my knitting for just a minute and he had not only stolen my knitting, he enjoyed a good gnaw on my wooden needles that are now in need of a good sanding!)

And we even enjoyed a gorgeous sunset on the way home!

 

CELEBRATION TIME

The new table runner won over my attention

 in the studio yesterday!

Then we left for a late lunch for our favorite restaurant,

 Corky Bell's, on the St. Johns River.

Our time together was perfection. 

 48 years married is a long time but a very good journey!

 

HAPPY MAY DAY!

Bill and I are celebrating our 48th anniversary today!  

We are going to lunch at Corky Bell's on the St Johns River.

I decided to work on the 25"  NICU incubator covers once again! 

 I am going to finish up 3 more before we head out

and then I will have a pile of a dozen to turn in.

I also trimmed up these 9 blocks I was given 

and will turn them into a table runner.

And this is what I bought on our last trip for the Shop Hop; 

 I will make a table runner and not a wall hanging which will be half of this pattern.  I will do this sooner rather than later.  

But first, the NICU covers!!!!!

 

MOMENTOUS DAY!

Yesterday was a very special day for my parents;  they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary! This is the reason we are visiting this time!  They planted this tree last month when their great-grandson was here to help Dad plant the tree.

My sister purchased this plaque for them to commerate the occasion!

We went out to dinner at Canale's in Oswego, New York. (Bill and I, my parents, my sister and bil)

The lake was just beautiful at sunset time.

I did a little bit of rock hounding!

And then we had ice cream again!  

This is the lighthouse in Oswego where they have the HarborFest each year

Just so calm and peaceful....

And they still tease each other, laugh and enjoy their present 

while telling great stories of their past, too.

I wouldn't have missed this time for the world!

 

I DO'S AND TO-DO'S!

This was 47 years ago today!  We will be celebrating with a lunch date at Corky Bells!

I snapped this pic at Broward Lake because it reminded me of a Monet painting!

I finished weeding and laying new mulch on one side 

of our front porch flowers!  

And managed to paint the wroght iron gates at the end of the driveway!  I'm trying to play catch-up on the chores that need doing outside before the really hot/humid weather hits!

 

A Milestone

Today is our 45th anniversary!  What a journey together.

I worked yesterday using up the last pieces of baseboard to finish the bathroom;

it is just such a beautiful touch to each room!  Don't take it for granted--I've never lived in a house with completed baseboards!  No joke.

I celebrated with some work on the lathe.  I have to get creative with my finger still not able to take any pressure but find a way I did!

This is more of the grapefruit tree wood.  I will be turning the bowl around and finishing the bottom today.

I also made another bluebird house--I'm getting much quicker at these now, too, even with my handicap!  I'm going to have to start selling them if Bill doesn't get them posted out back soon!!!!

Maybe we will do that AFTER we go out to eat to celebrate first!
