MAKING BLOCKS

Because I love to piece more than I love to do the quilting frame, I did only one row on the frame and enjoyed a lot more time piecing these rail fence blocks!  I had one block left over that will end up sewn into the backing.  Today I hope to get this sewn into a top!  Which will have to be quilted eventually!
In the evening I enjoy stitching here, where it is cozy and warm!  I know, no snow here, but it is very cold at night (high 20's) which is a very brutal winter for us!  I have all of my blocks now crocheted and will have to get them all crocheted together and then add a border.  Lovely evening work!

  1. It's all looking good!

My quilts are definitely coming in handy this winter! Maybe I need an Afghan or two too!

  2. I agree that piecing is more fun than quilting. Daughter's MIL always sends her tops out to be machine quilted. I could never do that. I wouldn't want anyone looking at my raggedy seams...lol.

  3. I like that grey/white combo.

Hope the cold eases up for you. I'm guessing you'll lose a lot of your landscape plants. I sure do remember that worry every winter.

Yesterday an Orlando friend phoned. She was in the middle of hauling in her 75 orchids. I remember THAT well too.

  6. You're so busy, busy! I finished my crochet blanket today and washed it. I hope to get a picture tomorrow. I'm sorry about your cold. I know it's hard when you're not used to it. We're supposed to be -4F tonight but warmer tomorrow. I sure hope so.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. Your home looks so warm and cozy, and your kitty looks very relaxed and happy there on the afghan before the warm fireplace. What a sweet picture of peace and comfort and coziness in this crazy cold weather we are having! Hang on tight tonight...it's going to be very windy and even colder! Wow!! Is this really Florida??? Take care!

This is hot off the press--I received the fabric from our FQC and put it right to use!  I don't always use it in the way suggested  but...
