I'm not thrilled with the boring patio door covering in my studio. Once I saw the gorgeous pieced curtains that Kate of The Last Homely House made, I knew what I would love to see in my studio!
There is a gridded stabilizer that I thought could help me in the ambitious piecing project.
I have been collecting 2 1/2" squares for a long time and decided to play with the pieces. I can press them to the interfacing so that I can keep them in place for actual piecing. This panel is 48" x 72" which will mean I will need two to cover the patio doors. This won't be a quick project but it is nice to have one that I can savor for a long time!
Good for you! Anxious to see the results.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!! Now I can't wait to see how it looks when you are finished with this ambitious project! Knowing you, it will be done next week!! (winking) You just ooze creativity out of every pore!! xo
ReplyDeleteI love her curtains too. They look like stained glass when the sun shines through.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a WONDERFUL idea.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting project. Will you cover the blinds with that, or eliminate the blinds altogether? Because our sliding glass doors are in our living room and the afternoon sun is quite bright there, we give our blinds quite a work out all day long. But that is our view of the "still very dry Still Waters Pond", so we like to be able to open it when the sun isn't too bright and see what's going on out there. I will be curious to see how you are going to use this new "curtain". Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteI love Kate at The Last Homely House! I've been watching her for quite some time. Her curtains in the little studio are so sweet. It will be fun to see how yours turn out, I think the panel looks great so far. We had blinds like that in our last house and they drove me bonkers. They never seemed to be hanging straight.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Oh - I'm excited to see this one!
