FRAGMENTS

After my morning eye appointment, in which we increased my dosage so hoping that is one 'pain' that will be under control again, I popped over to my neighbor's to help her with a sewing machine problem.  While there, I was amazed at the growth of this vine she calls Dutchman's pipe!  This flower is as big as my hand!
  Very prehistoric looking!
When I got home, Bill had done a lot of work clearing out this area which had gotten out of control with random pots and plants he had potted to give them a head start.
I love it all cleaned out!  It was a nice surprise!
I was looking for something else and found a package of 20 gauge brass wire which gave me the idea to try my hand at a YouTube
I had seen on making this kind of jewelry!
It was just so much fun, I made three!
What can I say.....it is a very pleasing activity to randomly make squiggles and angles with the wire!
Forgive the rotten photo--the camera will not play with the flourescent light on my desk tonight but this is for the prompt COLLIDE--sometimes, done is well done!
Now this one was pure joy!
The prompt was MOON and the ideas were many.
 Easy can be welcome.

Out to Lunch

This morning I played with some pretties to make some new stitch markers.
These are stones, jewels, glass leaves and fima clay.
I'm knitting on the Nurmilintu shawl and the new vest-I wanted new stitch markers to brighten the experience!
We joined my parents for an enjoyable lunch at Corky Bells 'al fresco'!
It was followed by some games on the pool patio.
Can you say a great day?!

Mastering a Monday

I worked this morning, trying to utilize my best time of day but it was still tough to get my fingers to thread the unpolished amber stones with glass beads onto the thread!  I remembered to save out a few stones to make earrings to match!  My mother-in-law brought me these stones from a trip to Poland many decades ago.  (She still had family there which she visited every few years!)
After much recliner time because of another UTI, (guess who has to see a urologist now-oh, joy!)
I managed to finish the Wild Leaves Mitts!
These are made with superwash wool I spun and dyed with indigo.  I used about 155 yards on number two needles.
This evening, Bill took me for a golf cart ride to pick our bunch of bananas that are ready!
The flower stem gets so long when it is ready to be picked!
There is another bunch that will be ready in another month!
This is growing at the base of the banana trees-
The texture is amazing!
Bling takes this daily ride with us.  He sits and waits for us to come back and continue the tour!
He is a sweetie!
We will take the bananas back to the house to finish ripening.  You have to cut the banana from the bunch to hasten ripening.  It's pretty cool.  I can taste it now....

Helping Hands

Goodbye old cabinets!  The musty smell is gone from the house-we found the source of 'that' smell!  Yippee!
The guys cleaned the floor and then pieced in the new flooring so it will be level for the new cabinets!
We took an after lunch break and took Will for a walk...he enjoyed his adventure!
Kings on the hill!
A chilly dip ended our walk!  He loved it until his lips started to look a bit blue!  (The water is at 74F!)
Ashley helped me put up our tree during the morning nap.  The wiring died to the top of the tree...this will be the last year for this one!
During Will's afternoon nap, I introduced Ashley to the joys of sea glass drilling!  She is enthralled as much as I am!

Pre-Purple Cow Preparations

I finished two pairs of socks for Aria from the socks I made her Mom!  The skeins of yarn are no more!
I have been packing for the big sale at the fiber/vending event in Port Orange tomorrow.  I will be demonstrating my spinning and selling my yarn items as well as my soap and sea glass!
I have everything inventoried and price tagged to make the sale easy tomorrow!
I added some hardware to some of the sea glass-I will be wearing one myself!  I just didn't have enough time to make each one with its own fixings!  This will give me an idea if there is a market for more!  I do take orders from this sale so that is another possibility.
I also started this when I was unable to get off the couch with this cold!  It has come at a most inconvenient time!  (Okay, a cold is never convenient....)
I am going to make three of these puppy hats for the three youngest members of the family!  I used the brand from Hobby Lobby called I heart this Cotton and it is SO soft!  This would be great for any garment and it does not have the rough feel of dishcloth cotton.   A nice surprise!

Early to bed tonight because we leave very early tomorrow morning to give us time to travel and set up in Port Orange!

Shhh! It's a Secret

I made some jewelry , a bracelet and necklace, for a friend's upcoming birthday and then when I saw a pattern on The Quilt Show for this little gift bag, I knew I needed to make it!  Ta Da!

FEELING BETTER

I added two smaller pumpkins to add to the larger one I made while in Georgia.    They make a pretty trio! The hats keep on coming--I am usi...
