THE BEST LAID PLANS

Many years ago, Mom and I had plans to make a handkerchief quilt from the collection she has from her Mom and her Aunt.
We never made such a quilt
but now I have received the box of hanky history!
So I will have to make some plans to get these from the realm of idea to reality!  So many of the lace edgings and embroidery is handmade from my Gram!  I have a book at home with plenty of inspiration which will help me make concrete plans.

TOUCHING ALL POINTS OF INTEREST

I woke up to this...Lena doesn't always spend the night on my bed but an occasional visit is great!
I painted this wooden square to be something new for the wall--more to come.
I drilled holes and sprayed this Birch bit with lacquer to help preserve the bark curls-more to come.
I started a new bowl-am finishing it with a new product-
more to come.
I started the quilting lines at the frame but--you guessed it--
more to come.
But I did finish a hat from the new yarn acquisition
and love the look!

Today will be some finishes!

So What If......

I wondered how this afghan would look if I used a smaller 'scallop' .
This one is big enough for a lap robe;
I will knit a border on the side edges to make them neater
and call it done.
I reduced the stitches from 40 to 30 and added a few more scallops to the row
and I liked what I saw.

So much for using up scraps of yarn-now I will have to buy some more to finish the new idea!
Or
I will rip the first one out and use that yarn instead.
Because that is often what happens to the first one off the drawing board.
And that is what happens when you get an idea.......

A Rabbit Hole and a Golf Hole......

You know how it goes, an email with a picture and a link and next thing you know, you are sitting with a YouTube video going in front of you while you sit with some yarn to try it out!
I am making triangles into clamshells.........
and I found a wonderful new knitting teacher as a bonus!
See how it is working out?
I thought it would make a cute baby blanket for practice;
to see if I want to make one with some
scraps of DK yarn.
I think that it would be a great scrap sock yarn blanket, too!
Oh, boy....it is a dangerous rabbit hole!
Anyone want to do a KAL?

Friday, Bill and Will had an adventure;  they used tickets they were gifted to go and be a part of the
TPC Sawgrass  held just an hour away.

Will was especially excited to see the real men they see on the tv golf game;  he got his wish!
It was a long and steamy day but both enjoyed themselves immensely!
Will also enjoyed some real-time club and ball time!
When he met up with his dad-
A three generation shot in front of the TPC Sawgrass Country Club.
Matthew goes each year to entertain corporate guests of Sherwin Williams, his employers.
Will loved to have the opportunity to have a tour from his own dad!
He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience;
being quiet was no problem for this little fan.
He was so happy to tell me that everyone was nice there and glad to see him!
I'm sure they were, BoyWonder!

If at First You Don't Succeed....

 Try something else!
The Jural top is was done but when I tried it on....there was this super low armpit and it is a no-go!
It would work if I never moved while wearing it.
So,  I am presently trying to pick up and knit
to fill in the 'space'
and who knows if I can repeat it on the other arm hole.
 Sigh.
Try something else is right-I purchased  some more of the white for the sashing on this little quilt the other day
so I have begun putting it all together.
Give me a few hours and I can really make a go of the sewing queue!
This is part of the incentive to get the backlog manageable again!
A new Accuquilt die is just waiting for me!
I have a pile of rainbow solids and some black fabric
 just waiting for this guillotine!
Ever make a winding ways quilt?
I have a blank for this quilt pattern so I can doodle to use all the colors instead of just two.

Ideas bounce around so much sometimes, I hear sounds
like the old Attari pong game in my head...........!

READY FOR FALL

Just because I hate to be beaten by something, I finished the wall hanging again! lol  I quilted it better by quilting it and then trimming ...
