Knitting is Good Therapy

I love to be greeted by these guys every morning!  They peck (knock) on my studio sliding glass door to let me know they are ready to eat their corn!
I cast off this hat (Jazerant pattern) with dk yarn, #5 needles, very little yardage from the skein and lots of interesting cables that are very easy to do!  I will try it again with worsted weight yarn to see how much it changes!
I used it  up the last of the FeelsGoodYarn to knit these two wristers and then I had enough to make another pair so I can wear them even when the other needs washing!
(The pattern is from Sivia Harding)

  1. The sandhill cranes in our neighborhood bring traffic to a standstill as they walk slowly (VERY SLOWLY) across McCulloch Road. LOL

Love the hat and wristers. Does that mean cool weather is HERE?

  2. Even more knitted goodies? You must be feeling better. Those birds are amazing. Daddio had a neighborhood peacock that used to scare the you know what out of me. It would come up to his front window and scream like a banshee. He was used to it but I never stopped jumping out of my skin whenever it showed up. I can't believe the foxes or the eagles didn't have it for lunch.

  4. Wow, I love your big birds! We get Sandhills in Alaska during summer. I've never had them in my yard though! Once when we were Fall camping at Denali, they woke me up as they were flying over at 4 in the morning. Thousands of them all flying south for the winter! What a noise! It was awesome!

  5. What kind of birds? They are just beautiful! As is the hat. The cable looks quite challenging!

    1. The birds are Sandhilll Cranes. These in FL do not migrate or congregate like in other western states.
      We love their visits!
