THE NEXT STEP

I stitched the last churn dash block
and now I have to decide what to do with the corners.
I will use some more of the navy fabric for spacers on the sides.  It's getting easier to think and work on the piecing.
And then I get a text---Ethan's school planted an oak tree in his memory and his fellow students all painted rocks to decorate the ground around the tree. I'm so glad they care enough to do this and to help the other 3rd graders grieve.

  1. I like that a tree was planted in your grandson's memory. A lovely gesture.

  2. The quilt is coming along beautifully. How wonderful of Ethan's school to plant a tree in his memory. A lasting tribute to him. The painted rocks are so pretty too.
    Blessings and hugs,

How very sweet - and probably healing for those students. That is a tough loss

  6. That was so sweet of Ethan's school to remember him that way. One of my first grade students passed away after a brief illness and we also planted a tree. The rocks really add a personal touch. I wish we had thought of that.
