Successfully stitched together--a fun way to display a panel. 

This is 32" x 42".

I enjoyed working with the moss stitch again but this time it is in the ripple pattern for some dishcloths.

Three good sized dishcloths from the one skein of Simply Cotton from KnitPicks.  

Off to a doctor appt but will have some fun shopping and lunch with a friend to make the day tolerable!

 

DISHCLOTHS

Just a simple pattern of single crochet and a half double crochet to give some texture and a relaxing way to use up a ball of dishcloth cotton from Peaches & Creme in Evening Sea. 

I've gotta go for some routine blood work this morning and this evening, I will teach our Ladies' Bible Study.  In between, I hope to apply the last of the finishing oil on the cypress bowl stitch a bit at the quilting frame and then take a nap 

so I will be fresh for the evening!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF SCRAPPY SATURDAY!

 Back to crocheting some dishcloths with the favorite pattern of sc, ch1, sc in the sp of the ch below in the round!  I have been using up scraps and still enjoying the blue/orange and even the aqua and orange one!

Bill and I headed in to church yesterday for some cleaning since today the teens are putting on a luncheon for us seniors.  It will be a good chance for fellowship with friends!

PLEASURABLE STITCHING

All the blocks are sewn together and I decided to use the grey fabric for sashing to give the bright spots some room!

The close of my day looked like this--Feather and Fan dishcloths with matching M & M's!

 

PREP WORK

I did a ton of cutting for the pieces for the Shop Hop quilt--I will post pics when I actually do some piecing. 

 In the meantime, I keep on knitting;  this is a waffle weave variation.  It is an easy 4 row repeat.

 

STITCHES ADD UP!

I do accumulate a pile of dishcloths over the course of a month!  The top half of the pile is going with me to the lab draw today to drop off at the iron infusion nurses for their care!  I will find out next week, if I kept the iron boost up to normal levels. 

 If not, I will be doing some more infusions!

I know we've all made the corner to corner dishcloths but I wanted the same look without doing it diagonally so I figured it out!  It turned out nicely!  Good for my brain to have to solve issues like making a yarn over and remembering to also decrease right after so that I have a square and not a parallelogram!!! lol 

 I consistently forgot that step even after making 5 dishcloths

so eventually I will remember, I hope!

I have the pieces for the last block all stacked next to the machine waiting for me to come home after the lab this morning!

 

PEACEFUL PIECING

My local fabric store didn't have any more of the fabric I needed so I had to find some scraps and make do--I put the 'odd' blocks in the four corners.  I've started sewing the rows together and should finish it today, I hope.

While at the store I was able to purchase some backing for this top so it can be added to the quilting frame queue!

In the evening, during a grand T-storm, I worked on a garter stitch entralac dishcloth--again doing it from memory!  I can see some areas that need some refinement but it was a good exercise!  I got this far along on binding off the last row but didn't like the way it was turning out--I like the binding off to look the same as the casting on row. (see how the top right corner is smooth on top?  The other triangles should look like that, too!)

After a few false starts I improved but now I will try another one to see if I can remember a bit more easily second time around! 

A BIT OF THINKING

My view as I bike my mile or so every morning.  Bill has been swimming several times a day but I haven't mustered the energy yet.  The pool is 86-88* so it is warm enough,  I just have to wait for my desire to be great enough to find the energy!

I've been working on this new table runner--I didn't mean to make a Christmas one but I am trying a new idea and wanted to test it out using one of the  fat quarter kits i get.  I will make a red/white/blue one next--should have it done in time for July 4th.

I did end up putting the outer 4 1/2" borders on;  I will use a dark binding to frame it all.  This was a very good pattern/project. 

 The pattern is Cabin Fever.

The other night I wanted to use up the last of the dish cloth cotton skein with this pattern.   I sat and did a bit of thinking and then just cast on and was quite pleased when I figured it out without having to look it up!!1  Anytime I can pull a thought from the mire of my brain I get pretty excited! lol

 

DECEMBER STARTS

What does she do?  Nyki encourages me to do  something while I just lie around all day--2 dozen dish cloths to give away! 

After a (stationary) bike ride, 

I hope to do a little decorating for Christmas around here!

 (emphasis on a little but it is better than none!)

 

On the way to church yesterday, we saw this car, 

a '49 Chevy Fleetline!  Pretty cool! 

 We have a lot of car shows the day after Thanksgiving in our area and so we had fun just viewing some from our car window

 as we came and went!

JUST STITCHING FROM MEMORY!

I asked Bill to pick me up some dishcloth cotton and he bought me 6 skeins to keep me busy!  I keep thinking I should make some different ones but then I remember that learning something new right now is a bit of a slog so I make what my hands remember and can disengage the brain! lol  I make 2 dishcloths from a skein so they make a lovely thank you gift for those who brought meals!

A STITCH AT A TIME

My brain is beginning to recover from the multitude of drugs pumped into me to save my life.  I even sat at the table for two meals yesterday.  I'm finding little improvements each day but I have to remember to search for them.  

Recovery means time, lots of time.

 

SOCKS ON SUNDAY

The pair of socks I started on my way to NY is a done deal!  

This yarn is Knit picks Static in Cabot Cove. 

 It was an easy match for this pair. 

 It's going into the gift pile for now.

 

And I am still loving these dishcloths! 

 I can use every bit of the yarn from 1 skein to make a pair. 

 I like that I can make a pair in an evening, too!

FORGOTTEN FINISHES!

Another cotton sweater has been added to the sweater drawer! 

 It looks good with capris or my linen skirt!

 

No, I am not tired of making the matching pair of dishcloths from each ball of cotton yarn!  

WE SPEAK YARN!

We've been making hats-Mom needed a refresher course to make them on her own.  

I've been making my usual dishcloths and was able to share several pairs with my Mom, sister and two nieces!

We are also making all of the parts for this lovely to hand out to the newest baby due any time!

 

APRIL FOOL'S DAY

It was a wonderful day yesterday, filled up with love.  I did a bit of crocheting in the evening with this yarn called I Love This Yarn in Brights colorway--doesn't it look like Easter eggs?

This pair in was from Crafter's Choice yarn but I tossed the label already!  

What will I be doing today?  Starting the WAL, of course!!!! 

 First step, winding on the warp! More pics to follow!  

These many steps before I start weaving will all be part of the process and I am not going to rush through any of them!

 

A NEW STITCH

I've  been playing around with a few new stitches and fell in love with the linen stitch or moss stitch and have made many using it but this is the same stitch in the round!  I also love using the peaches & cream variegated yarn- it is soft and smooth and a bit finer in grist than the solid colors that are hard and harsh to crochet with in my opinion!  In the YouTube I watched, she called it Moss stitch to Infinity by working each round and ending it with a slip stitch, I changed it just a bit by working around and around without ending and turning each round--it was very relaxing!

I've also been doing a lot of weaving!  I work on this while the loom is on the stand and also propped up on pillows on my lap when I have to be back in bed!  It is likewise working up well and is very relaxing!  

I went to the on-call doctor on Saturday morning since I was having trouble with pain in my right lung.  She said that Covid had triggered an inflammation which my immune system overreacted to and she put me on a higher dose of steroids and a different medicine for my nebulizer.  They helped a lot and I feel like I just might be well again!  I am off today to see my regular PCP and see what he wants to add or take away from the plan!  It's been a month today.....
 

HAVE A HEART!

I crocheted the two green ones on Sun/Mon and the two pinks yesterday.  The heart one I made twice because I didn't make the heart wide enough the first time!  Did I write it down, no.  It doesn't matter;  what does matter is that I did it just to keep my brain from freezing up!  
 

SOME SOCKS!

It's been a long time since I have finished a pair of socks!

  And for me, this is the first sock finish of the year!

  I also made two dishcloths from the Dishcloth Marathon.

  A good day of yarn was enjoyed.

 

OUT AND ABOUT

I do like the portability of dishcloths! 

 They are good car projects, too.

 I made a cat toy;  it is sprinkled with catnip inside! 

I don't like the big ears; 

 I will be remaking them but overall, it is cute!
