We drove up to Fernandina Beach
to spend an overnight visit with youngest son and family.
It was Ella's 12th birthday, too.
She requested this pumpkin and cream cheese rolled cake--it was superb! In fact, we all decided
we want that for our birthday cakes this year!
Caleb bought Cassandra this Peace rose 5 years ago
and it was blooming in all of its beauty!
And this little guy is the foundling that Caleb bottle fed (they received her at 10 days old!) for weeks. They named him Moose which was funny bc he was so tiny but he is growing into his name. I have never met such an affectionate cat who is sure that everyone is his friend! It was a joy to snuggle him!
That cakes looks delicious! I used to do a rolled cake at Christmas years ago but was no good at it. They always cracked. Kitty looks sweet. He reminds me of my dearly departed Hoover. He was such a good boy.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, tell Ella her recommendation has reached deep into the South!
ReplyDeleteHappy that you were able to travel and spend time with everyone --- Moose included.
Any trip that involves a snuggle with a kitty is a good trip!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great trip and I love Moose and his story. It's obviously true love between them all. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Glad you had such a nice visit! Moose sounds delightful…so glad they got a snuggler. -Marsel
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday (late) to Ella! Moose is such a handsome cat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trip! And I agree, I want that for my birthday in January!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Ella. The cake looks good although I'm not a fan of pumpkin -- could it be chocolate instead? I can remember growing roses when we lived in Ca. And, yes we had a Peace plant. It produced lots of beautiful flowers. Kitty sure doesn't look like Moose, a big dog owned by a friend of ours. Have a great evening. And even better New Year.
