I had to fast for four hours before the CT scan so I figured I needed to keep busy so I stitched all of the blocks together into a real top. I was whooped afterwards but pleased that I accomplished something for a change!
I had several hours of imaging; first a CT scan , which was the first one I have had to do and then it was time for the dye which was quite a surprise because it was very different than the one I have for the MRI!!! (a bit overwhelming in the warmth throughout my body from the dye!) I was glad they could leave in the same IV when I next moved to the MRI room because it was a struggle to get one in my vein. I am quite used to the MRI and all of its noise! When I was finished, two hours later, I waited outside to enjoy the beautiful roses. I appreciate the beauty added to a space that could have been left barren but wasn't! They have several beautiful roses and I sniffed every one of them!
The creamy one smelled the best but I do love red roses!
On the road side of the imaging center, they have a retaining pond. While waiting for Bill, I saw a mud turtle and a skinny snake slithering on top of the water and over the lily pads!
I was far enough away to just be curious!
Since the technician suggested food and drink to flush my system of the double dose of 'glow juice', Bill surprised me with a visit to Corky Bells restaurant! The front of the building has plenty of garden beauty here also!
Our view southward...
and also the view toward the north along the ST Johns River.
It was calm, warm (80*) and a perfect reward for the end of the testing!
Wowza….what an adventure! How nice that it ended better than it started. That top is lovely. I’d have been hiding under the covers knowing I had those tests ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteNot a fun day but at least it ended well! I don't mind the MRI machine. I've had a few and I find them quite relaxing. Maybe too relaxing.... my last one the technician stopped half way through because he thought I had passed out... nope - just cat-napping! Lol. He said I was the first person he'd ever seen fall asleep in the machine.
ReplyDeleteGlad your tests are in the past now. And what a nice way to end that process! Looks like a beautiful place for lunch.
ReplyDeleteWhew --- all that testing! Glad you got to counterbalance it with pretty views and good food.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will get some good info and a direction for treatment! Lovely views.
ReplyDeleteGlad all those tests are done. Hope that lunch was great!
ReplyDeleteOh my. That's a lot of prep and testing to go through. Bravo on sewing the blocks together. Thank goodness you were able to find some beauty around you after all the medical procedures. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhat does it mean to "turn wood"? It's in your description.
ReplyDeleteHope the test results come back fabulous!
Ugh on all the tests. However the opposite -- ie not knowing what is going on is worse. I've read through several of your past blogs. Your almost finished quilt is looking great. And so glad you could make it to at least one of the shop hop stores. Yummy new fabric too! Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh, you went to our favorite restaurant! And you also went to our favorite imaging center! I recognized the pink fence and the roses! Such a lovely garden!! That's a lot of testing for one day! Wow! I'm surprised they would do both on the same day, but at least you didn't have to have a different IV in your arm, so that is a good thing! We count our blessings! (((Hugs))). Praying now for your results to be perfect. That quilt top is marvelous!! I wish I could see it a bit closer to read what is on those different squares. It is really amazing!! Wow!!! You are quite talented! One of these days we need to meet at Corky Bells, or if you prefer...that new Mexican place really is good too. Hubbies might enjoy getting acquainted too? Let's think about it, okay?
ReplyDeleteGood to squeeze in some highlights along with the appts! ❤️ -Marsel
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great reward for all those tests - That's a lot of Testing in one day. Your quilt top is lovely... relax now!
