PRECIOUS TIME

We had fun making a pillowcase!
Ella is a natural at sewing,  even using the serger!
We spent a long time in the pool, too!
We hung the heart swag in the crepe myrtle bushes.
The sunset was very colorful and lent a beautiful glow
 while skateboarding around the driveway!
Her dad and brother came to spend the night--he always
 brings some powerful fireworks!
 We ooohed and aaaahed appreciatively!

ALL IN A DAY'S PLAY!

After a swim and some rain, it was time to go out and have some fireworks!  The kids enjoyed the spectacle!
Caleb put off one of his tanerite 'bombs' that he hits with his high powered gun--quite the boom and smoke!
My blackberry lilies are finishing up their blooms.
I never took a photo of my brother and myself when in NY last month--here we are with  my sil , too!

A Day of Adventures!

Cassandra and I worked on step one of making a stepping stone. (applying tile adhesive and placing our tiles)
Now we must wait to grout it.  Today will see it finished!
The tree crinum is doing it again (this bloom bundle is 18-20" wide).  The smell is delicious!
A lot of this happened today.  (pool temp is 82F)
In the pond out back,
we saw this pattern in the water and knew this was around!
A water snake.
A permanent removal was necessary but it was not wasted-
because we hang it in the tree for a hawk or eagle!
The camouflage is good-can you see it?!
The evening was perfect
(except for the mosquitos which is why I am inside the lanai for the bonfire)
for fireworks!
A loud and beautiful end to a perfect day!

Sweater 101

If you are new to knitting or a knitter of decades like me,
you need to check out the free course by Cheryl Brunette called How to Knit a Sweater.
I am using a bag of chunky yarn to knit the class sweater for a child;
I am learning a lot of tips and tricks-I wish I had had access to this so many years ago
and am glad for it now!
I think that anyone who knits, needs to give her videos a watch-you will pick up something positive, I'm sure!  I enjoyed some knitting time today-
But set it all aside in time for the fireworks show my son gave us
tonight-
this one was a photographic accident and I love it!
We had a wonderful day.

HAT ENHANCEMENT!!!

I bought a newly released knitting machine that is electric--it cranks on its own and even makes however number of rows I program and stops ...
