mulberry tree !
I walked around with my old ice cream bucket and picked until it was full! Most of the berries are as big as my thumb! (Those are not worms, they are stems!)
After a few hours work, I have 8 jars of mulberry jelly!
I'm here; just not much happening. The bike is working out well and is becoming very enjoyable! I knit and nap still but I have ban...
Those jelly jars look like gems! Those berries bring back memories of the mulberry tree back on the farm, although those northern berries didn't grow to the gargantuan proportions of their southern relatives. :)
ReplyDeleteMaking Mulberry jelly - in April... Wow! I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteThe jelly looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteMy parents had a mulberry tree when we were kids; we used to eat the berries right off the tree. I don't remember any cooked items, certainly not jam (or jelly)!
DD has a young mulberry tree and is wondering if she should keep it!
Yum! Those jars of jelly are making my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteSo. What do mulberries taste like? They look a bit like blackberries... I know they aren't, but is the taste similar?
ReplyDeletelucky you, you can pick mulberries! our tree is still tiny and doesn't want to grow bigger at all:(( you could get a few silkworm eggs and produce your own silk:))
