MILTON LEFT A MESS

Power outages and no internet gave us a few days without being connected to the rest of the world!
The yard is a mess everywhere but there was no damage
to our house for which we are grateful!
The banana trees didn't fare as well, unfortunately!
I did a bit of knitting on the smaller Sentro knitting machine
using DK weight yarn.  I would think It will fit 6-12 month olds.
I also finished another pre-illness project, the crow wall plaque!
I just needed to put the polyacrylic on to seal the painted wood
so I could put the Cricut cut vinyl on as the finishing touch!

And a noble view of my companion, Lena.

STITCHING

This is my view when I want to watch a painting tutorial on YouTube!  She won't move until I get up and move toward her!  Stinker.
I am on the last row of the doily-it takes forever because it has tons of picots!  It will be finished, blocked and starched next time you see it!  I've enjoyed each stitch of this project!
This hat is made with the leftover yarns from the baby blanket!  Since I got sick when home from NY, I didn't get to deliver the blanket.  Now I can include the hat to match!  I am still making hats-I just don't post about them!  I am making another large pile to take to the shelters when we get into December so they can be handed out in time for our January freezes!

FRIDAY FELINES

Lena likes to pose for me
when I am trying to take photos of a project!
The new baby hat is pretty, too! lol  It is really for a one year old so my doll is a bit small but you get the idea.
DK Yarn from Hobby Lobby.
I had an idea for the next Diamond Dotz porject--I mounted it to the canvas board before I started it this time!  It was easier to use the brayer and get it to seal without the dotz on the canvas! I trimed the corners this time to reduce bulk-much better.
Once the front was glued (Elmer's) to the front of the board, I glued the back and held it under weights (a pile of books)
 for several hours.
And now I can do the dotz without a table-it is it's own table!!!!   I could do it  on my lap while watching tv even!  My only irritation--the size of the Diamond Dotz lists it as 30 x 40 cm only it isn't!  I am glad I didn't just cut the board without measuring myself to be sure!  I am very pleased with this new idea!

GROWTH

I love going out every morning and puttering with the garden beds.  Bill hooked up an automatic sprinkler system so we can take a trip and not worry about the beds drying out!
I love seeing how much the little plants follow the sun
 and lean into it!
I finished up a toddler hat--it is sky blue and dark grey-reading her as light grey instead of the blue and looks brown for the lining instead of dk grey!  Gotta love monitors!

We have turned to the dark side and left our Android devices and switched to XFinity as a phone carrier and even with new IPhones, we are saving over $40 a month.  Nothing to sneeze at but let me tell you, it has been a learning curve! lol  (Hence the unedited photo above that I couldn't correct!)  I think I will be glad for the switch soon enough but it was a long day figuring out all of the ways technology has complicated  made our life easier!

FOR THE NON-HAT-WEARERS!

I know, I make so many hats but I hate to wear them--only in a blizzard will you find me wearing one since I got glasses--20+ years ago! lol  So when I saw the pattern to make earwarmers on the Sentro knitting machine, I thought I should try it.  I had some leftover handspun yarn-some of the same yarn I had made the scarf from which I thought would feel nice and coordinate with the scarf!  It was a breeze to make \and I will be making a lot more of these in the weeks to come!
(We keep getting the cold northern winds here
and it has been in the high 30's again the last few mornings!)
See what it looks like on?
I can fluff my hair on top of it
and it doesn't make me cringeat the sight of it on my head!
This will be good to wear without ruining a hairdo
as a beanie does to short hair!
(Don't pay attention to my serious expression--I took the pic before bedtime and I look like I need to go to sleep--which I did right afterwards! lol)

Today, I am off to a QOV sewing day-there are 16 of us who will be sewing  blocks, sewing together blocks and just plain enjoying working together!  (our group leader will be away on the 'real' QOV Sew Day so we scheduled it a bit early!)

DIFFERENT PACES

The blanket is coming along nicely--this is folded in half;  the side on the bottom would be the width,  so I have at least another 4-6 inch...
