The pear tree in the back yard went down
Sunday evening during a wind/rain storm!
What makes this extra sad is that it would've been a bumper crop come September! The tree was loaded with fruit!
Unfortunately, the fruit is too immature to ripen even, if we picked it now to try and save some. We will leave the tree down for a while for the deer and other critters to eat on !
But all is not lost, though! I already have a few choice spots on the trunk picked out so my brother can bring some chunks home for me on his next drive up and back! lol
So sorry about the tree --- pears are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHow sad! Those do look like some beautiful pears. It's good that you can make something as a remembrance of that wonderful old tree.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame to lose all that wonderful fruit. Hopefully the wildlife will appreciate it, and you will create something beautiful from the trunk! Keep us posted, please!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely sad to see that tree laying on the ground with all that fruit. I'm sure you'll make good use of that wood.
ReplyDeleteOh how sad, but the deer will love the fruit and you'll use the wood so not all is lost!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
The weather has been absolutely across this whole area lately. I'm surprised more trees aren't down!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the lost crop though - but at least you'll get some nice wood from it! There's always a silver lining!
