Quiet House

I have cleaned the house and spent the day in the sewing room.

This was an experiment in using full fabric width strips sewn together like you would for binding a quilt and then cutting them apart at different spots in the loop.  This is long-two strips long in each stripe of the table runner.  I am going to use this technique to use up a bunch of scraps and make a large quilt.  I got the idea for this experiment from here, a blog I read regularly.

  1. Never is our love for sewing more of a gift than it is when it helps to fill those first few days of a quiet house!

Miss you -- but your projects turned out nicely!

  5. Seriously, you made those bags yourself??!!!

Those are fabulous - you should definitely sell those (if you could stand making a number of them without dying of boredom, of course). I could definitely use one or five of those!

    Brilliant gal...

  7. Great job in the sewing room!! Those bags are gorgeous! The runner technique is cool too!

I just updated my blog post to show pictures of the House of Seven Gables quilt fabrics. I couldn't find it when I was writing the post, but your comment sparked my curiosity and I did find them online! They're pretty old-fashioned (of course, since they're historical reproductions!)

SOME MORE BABY HATS

I added to the baby hat pile and even changed up the pattern with the finer yarn.  The one on the far left is really a pink;  I worked on it...
