If You Can't Knit....Tink

I think I discharged a lot of frustration
by ripping out an entire lap-sized scrap sock blanket--
No,  not my beloved diagonal squares one
but rather the Northeasterly Blanket that had the magic knot
that didn't knot well at all!
I have been unhappy with it for a long time and so since I am just sitting,
it felt good to rip it all out! lol
Now I have a basket of double-stranded yarn balls of differing lengths
that will become....hats most likely for infants and kids!
Playing with yarn felt good, even if it was going backwards for now.

  1. Oh no, it was such a pretty blanket! But I’m very glad you had a project that was manageable for you to do right now and that the yarn will continue to be useful and enjoyable!

  3. I did the same thing last year when I was so overwhelmed by grief that I couldn't function for weeks. It did feel good to see those balls emerge. I now have a giant bin full of sock yarn scraps. I keep saying I'll do something with them but I never do. They will be my legacy I suppose.

  5. I could send you some of my stuff that I've been meaning to tink if you run out of it:) no, seriously, it might be boring not to be able to do much, but I think your body just needs time to rest now, body and mind! you can make up for it once you're fit again. in the meantime let DH pamper you a bit - you deserve it!

  6. I bought the Northeasterly pattern too but have never felt like making it. I like the idea of it but the knitting of it, not so much. My scrap squares blanket is still fun though.
I hope that you're feeling stronger day by day my friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
