SOME FABRIC AND WOOD

A bit of stitching to build all of the star blocks.
(the one on the right is going on the bottom row
but I am lining them up here until I can attach them!)
I also loaded a little half log of black walnut
and it easily developed into a sweet little bowl!
I love the deep color and there isn't even any finish on it yet!!!
Might I mention how wonderful it is to work in front of the A/C unit in a cooler garage! (80* instead of 95*)

  1. Black walnut has to be one of the prettiest wood grains ever! On our drive yesterday I saw a giant burl on a tree (I missed what kind of tree but we will pass it again today so I will try to look) — the burl was probably about a yard in diameter and a foot and a half deep — I thought of how much fun you’d have playing with that! :) -Marsel

  5. Black walnut is so beautiful. Even the two trunks we have laying out back are pretty as they disintegrate into dust out there. Our chain saws couldn't even begin to cut them up so after the hurricane we just let them lie.
