When I woke up this morning, it was to a beautiful foggy sunrise.
But when I stepped outside for a picture, I realized it was smoke!
Heavy, acrid smoke-smoke that means the fire is close.
I googled it and found that it was just 2 miles south of us.
It has been hot and dry for the last two months
and so foolish decisions usually cause these fires.
And there you will find a good analogy for life........
Stay safe. So sorry to read about this.
ReplyDeleteWe visited my aunt and uncle years ago in Citrus Spring near Ocala, such beautiful country. So sorry to hear your news. I pray it will be put out soon. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteVery foolish decision by one man......his neighbors have been VERY forgiving of him. I'm not sure I could be that magnanimous.
ReplyDeleteWe have friends in Bryce City that have been very worried about their house. So far, it is safe.
Whoa.........that is so scary! I saw my neighbor's 95 year old father burning paper and cardboard in a metal barrel on the edge of their property that backs up to my woods the other day. I was furious. My woods are nothing but kindling this time of year.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
THere is often fires in a preserve near us and it can be alarming when that fire gets close. Everything is so dry here at the moment and the little ponds are so low. We need rain!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hope it has cleared up...
ReplyDeleteargh, I do hope that it's been put out without any damage to your property! one of the good things of living in a country with as much rain as we have is that wildfires are rarely a threat! unless it is very dry and some stupid people start burning the bogs:( pity I can't send any rain to you....
