A Sock -A-Sunday

One done and one begun.
I am getting over my irritation over the fiddly zig-zag, feature;
moving thestitches back and forth with the cable needle.
 No, I can't do cables without a needle because these are twisted stitches, too,
 so there is not enough give to let go of a stitch for even a minute!
I think by the time I am done messing with dropping and trying to capture the stitches
takes just as much time as just using the cable needle! lol

  1. I love the look of cables but hate doing them. They are fiddly and there is no way of getting around it. Even without a needle they are too fiddly for me anymore.

  2. Those are beautiful socks and I really like the cable. I always use a cable needle, even when the stitches aren't twisted. Otherwise I tend to drop them and what a mess that makes when cabling.

  3. Sometimes you just have to take your time. But it's worth it in the end. They will be lovely.

  4. Cables are definitely fiddly but worth the effort IMHO. I always use a cable needle also because my stitches love to run away, and then I end up ripping back which is very annoying. Love the colors in your yarn!

  5. Cables are so lovely, but I didn’t know people do them without a needle. I finally got brave enough to do a cable by myself (on my Russia-scarf) and I’m not sure why I was a coward about it for so long...not sure I’m ready for twists, too, though!

I cleaned the wood shop area;  the tools and the floor, etc so that I could begin work on that burl we acquired a few weeks ago!  It felt so...
