Classy Now

So first I cut about 18 ' off of the full length bridesmaid dress....
And then stitched the tiny knife edge hem around several miles (almost)
on both the sheer out layer and then for tricot lining.
And VOILA-here is the cropped swing blouse to top it all off!
It has a lot of movement when it is worn-I think she will be thrilled with the remake!
You can see the full swing of the back to echo the folds of the dress.

Now for three shiny buttons-rhinestones, I'm thinking!
I will head to the store tomorrow to pick some out!
It was a lot of fussing but worth it to have this for the outcome!

This turned out so well, I am thinking of doing it to one of my old formals!

  1. WOW! This turned out great. Thank you so much for taking photos for us. I just couldn't see it in my minds eye. I'm sure it will be worn with love and thankfulness for all the work you did on it. Beautiful!

  3. Oh wow! What a transformation! You need real skill to do that!

I gave all my old bridesmaid dresses to a group that redistributes them to people who can't afford a prom dress. Luckily, all my brides allowed us to choose the style of dress (colour was there choice), and we were able to get things with a very classic silhouette - it made a few teenagers very excited come prom time!
