Cemetery, Socks and Spider

This is one magnificent Maple tree in the midst of the cemetery.
The trunk of the tree is 7' in diameter which means it is at least 21' around!
I'm sure it has been witness to many mourners throughout the centuries!
While listening to an audio book, I added a few inches to the Comfort Sock.
And I cast off for one completed sock.
An active spider for WanderingCat--isn't she a fat one?!

  1. What a beautiful tree! For some odd reason trees gave me comfort after my mom died. I used to go sit in our woods and cry my heart out and I felt like the trees were mourning with me. I know that sounds crazy but grief does strange things to your brain and you will take comfort wherever you can get it.

  2. Spectacular tree. Think how pretty it will be in a couple of weeks when the leaves change. :-)

  3. I am in love with trees. Flowers are great but I am a tree gal through and through and that one is a beauty. I think tress feel us, call me crazy but I do. Love your socks. I just listened to Kristen Hannah's, The Great Alone. It was magnificent.

  6. That tree is spectacular. I can only imagine what it has witnessed in it's long life. The spider is "yuck". I don't like them at all. Your sock is beautiful.
    Blessings,

  7. Lovely tree.
And that spider is likely some sort of orb weaver. They have that distinctive big bum! Thanks for the pic!
