Sock #1

The first sock is finished-it is knit in KnitPicks Vancouver Hawthorne Multi yarn on 2.5mm needles.
Nyki was sleeping when I laid the sock down
but I woke her up and since she hates having her pic taken....

I got the punk eye from her! lol
And look at this--see it down at the center?  My 'leaf' I brought from my Mom's African Violet 2 years ago is getting ready to produce her first blooming!!!  I'm so excited!

  1. It’s nice to see a pretty picture of Nyki whether she likes it or not! Exciting development with the violet!

  2. It's always exciting to see a bit of bloom! It is such a sense of accomplishment even though, really, the plant did all the work. LOL

I have two orchids and both have new leaves coming in!!! Yay ME!!! LOL

The sock is really pretty. You can't beat a KnitPicks sock yarn.

  3. Great sock finish! I have a partial sock stuffed in my knitting bag that I haven’t touched in over a month - sigh.

  4. Love the sock but that photo of Nyki looks like she is NOT happy with you at all. Ha!
I've often wanted to try to root an african violet. Did you put the leaf directly into the soil or in water to grow roots first? Maybe I'll ask my sister for a leaf.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Nyki is so saucy! I love it!

That violet is awesome. Mine is doing so well I think I'll get another in a different colour (mine is dark purple)

  6. What a great expression on Nyki's face! I've had teenagers look at me like that :). Your sock is a lovely colour with that pretty stripey effect. And an achievement to grow a plant from a leaf, let alone have it bloom - looking forward to the photo.

WOOD WORKS

I cleaned the wood shop area;  the tools and the floor, etc so that I could begin work on that burl we acquired a few weeks ago!  It felt so...
