Two Steps Back

I was almost reduced to tears when I had yet another mismatched mate on the second mitten!
To my credit, I knit this one 'from memory' as I sat for most of the day at the lab
and then to the doctor's yet again.

I ripped it out and set my mind to making the second mitt and the third time was the charm!
I will be glad to see the last of this yarn for a while! lol
I have written notes down this time
and will not rely on my memory-even one day later-to make the next pair!
I'm also hoping my third trip to the doctor's will be the last for a long time!

  1. Been there. I was almost in tears sewing on my last borders on the hexie top the other day when I kept measuring wrong. I was surprised at myself but when all you have are your projects things get out of proportion I suppose. I had to remind myself to be kind to myself. These are trying times even though it doesn't always feel like it.
That yarn has such memories for me. I made dad a sweater and a hat out of it. I keep both of them in my car now for emergency use in the winter and I can't tell you how many times they have come to my rescue.

  2. The mittens did turn out cute...even if it took more times than necessary to complete! Good luck with your doctor's visit.

  3. Your persistence paid off! The mittens look great: another set (hat and mittens) finished. I hope you got good news from your doctor.

  4. I sometimes knit from memory. It's always a mistake!
I hope you got good news from the doctor.

  5. Well, I hope you're done with the doctor for awhile now. I'm also glad the mittens finally worked out. Some days it seems like nothing goes right when I pick up the hook or needles. I can't believe that today was so busy that I didn't knit a stitch.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
