While I love top down sweaters, knitting around and around on the sleeves with the whole blob laying on your lap is not comfortable! I'm working on the second sleeve now and hope to be done in a few days!
It is a relief to breeze through a dishcloth with some scraps!
When I do a top down I prefer to do the sleeves before the body, just to keep from having the slog of a knit. But then, most of my sweaters are baby sized! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe twisting and turning of the sweater body when working on the sleeves is awkward. Love the lacy cuff.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you on the top down sleeves!
ReplyDeleteYep. I always knit at the table when I get to that part. Somehow having the sweater up a little higher makes it seem less tedious to me. At least when you are at that part you are almost done!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I read or see someone making a dishcloth I think "I need to do that" and then I promptly forget....
ReplyDeleteThe lace work on the sweater is really pretty though. Most of my sweaters seem to have the sleeves knit last. I always have a dishcloth on the needles too. I try to have one or two in my gift closet at all times, although it's more like a tiny drawer here in the RV. Dare I admit that I'm looking forward to a house again? Not so I can have more STUFF, but so I can access the stuff I still have, but it's in storage. I wanted a cupcake tin last week and I have no idea which kitchen box it's in. When you have to pack up a 4 BR house in 3 days, things were flying everywhere!
