Wood and Fabric

Another Magnolia vase is emerging on the lathe.  
One side still has some of the outer bark on the vase.  
I am to the point of shellac and sanding layers...where I practice patience and then some!
I am a bit slow on the 4-patches for the checkerboard prompt this week.  I am placing it on the two sides, I think; 
 always subject to change when I look at it once sewn!

  5. That bark on the vase really adds a lot of interest to it. So pretty. I've been enjoying watching people make these quilts. They all look so different based on the fabrics. Yours is beautiful. How are the eyes today?
