Sapele Bowl

Isn't it pretty?  A new bowl from the Sapele blank which is a piece of wood you can buy that you can turn into whatever you want-a veritable 'blank' canvas for your work whether it is turning, carving or woodworking.
I turned the 6 x 6 x 3" square of exotic wood into a bowl--whose dimensions is just a touch smaller than that when finished.
I think it will perfectly hold candy....

  1. Gorgeous! (And I love the visual effect of the gleaming wood grain against the daintiness of the doily.)

  2. That is a gorgeous bowl, and the wood will shine with candy in it. Doesn't candy improve anything?

  4. Oh, it's so beautiful! The shine and the grain are stunning and on top of the doily it shows off even more. Did you make the doily too? You, my dear, are a woman of many, many talents.
    Blessings and hugs,
