A Good Start

I cleaned the studio first thing yesterday,
put away, sorted and tossed until it was orderly again.
I picked up the embroidered piece so begin the pillow;
I start with the zipper--and here was the first stitches!
(bobbin side)
Last week I would have cried and gone back to my recliner--
I know I am feeling better because I laughed, trimmed off the thread mess
and stitched that zipper right in place-no stress!
And soon I had a new pair of pillows on the couch!
Next I tackled the apple core quilt,
finishing the three rows and even beginning to stitch the rows together!
It requires a lot of pinning which drives me crazy
but it is the only way to hope to nail all of the curves and intersections!
I wasn't the best get back to stitching quilts project but it was on the design wall!
I only have seven more rows to go! lol

  1. I love those pillows!!! I had the same bird's nest issue when I started to sew the sashing on my hexies this week. I think among other things I need to change the needle. My poor machines are so neglected at the moment. Having The Mister under my feet 24/7 really puts a kink in my crafting time.

  2. I hate when bobbins behave like that! The pillows are really cute.

  6. Oooh! Those pillows turned out wonderfully. I was sewing on a dress yesterday and my bobbin did the same thing. I have no idea why. Maybe my machine is getting tired, it's almost 42 years old! I cleaned it up, trimmed the threads and it was fine after that.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
