I have a request for 10 hats for men who are homeless.
I made two hats so far-both reversible.
The one on the left is red, white and navy
and the other in teal, blue and turquoise.
Most of the day I spent cleaning and rearranging--Bill and I moved beds, rearranged and cleaned three bedrooms!
I am tired but in a good way!
I am enjoying the January declutter bug!
Girl, you put me to shame with all you get done!! And I'm over here seriously behind on getting a wedding quilt started and finishing the things I already have going!! So glad your broken wrist is a past memory!! Love the Hippos, adorable!
ReplyDeleteHow generous of you to make all those hats! I know all to well how important a nice thick hat is on a cold day. I've been getting a lot of use out of mine-even in the house. This winter has been more like gray, windy, wet March than January and I'm so over it.
ReplyDeleteThose hats will be well-loved and appreciated. I just took 4 hats to the Open Door Mission. This past week I've frantically spent every spare moment, of which there were surprisingly few, to knit on my sweater. I had wanted to take it with me but it won't be finished. I still have to finish the cuff on the second sleeve but I haven't even started the shawl collar and pockets. Oh well, I have my old one to take instead.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you get your energy to clean and move furniture. I have a load of laundry in and went to Mom's and picked up her RX's and I'm tired.
Take care my friend,
Blessings and love,
Betsy
There is something so satisfying about putting things right after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those hats will be very appreciated.
When we were in Jacksonville, someone tied hats and scarves to the light poles in Riverside for anyone to take if they needed them. There were quite a few homeless people in that area. I hope they felt cared for a little bit with a handmade scarf or hat.
