There and Back Again

I added the binding onto this quilt in the morning yesterday.
I really enjoyed making two of these tops
and now they are two striking quilts!
A good feeling to see them both completed!
I used a pantograph from Willow Leaf Studio called Birds and Blooms.
And then at lunch time Bill asked if he could take me out to lunch
and then to 'see' some cars to find
what I liked and didn't like!
I ended up knitting this much....
car shopping is not my favorite thing
because of all the time it takes
and still you come home with nothing.
At least I have a good start on the new sock.
It is Muse sock yarn with just a little bit of a open work up the side.
We saw this on the way home
and I thought it was a funny sight to see the rainbow
over the golden arches!

  1. Striking is right. That is a real beauty!
I hate car shopping too. The Mister spends hours yaking with the salespeople and I just sit there bored to tears. Thank goodness for knitting. I usually just sit in the care and wait.

  3. I love this quilt - the colors and how they flit around the top! Car shopping - recently purchased a new one and was SHOCKED to discover they still use the same tired and demeaning tactics they used decades ago - bait and switch, hidden costs, promises not kept, good cop/bad cop. I hope you find a car you like with the least painful transaction.

  4. Sweet quilt finish!! What pattern is that sock? I'm not a fan of knitting lace socks, but that little detail wouldn't be too much to deal with.

  7. That quilting is just beautiful. Very striking indeed.
Car shopping is not fun. When we replaced my Honda CRV I knew exactly what I wanted. I basically just wanted a newer version of what I had with a few extra goodies on it. I had my list, went to the salesman with it and said this is what I'll pay and this is what I want. Can you do it? Since I had bought my two previous cars from him, he knew I was serious and wouldn't budge. To my surprise they gave me what I wanted. I paid way below what was on the sticker.
I think it really helps if you deal with the same person over time. Plus, we've known his Dad for over 30 years so if he wasn't nice to us, I think he would be "talked to." Ha!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. Such pretty colours in your quilt ...and some very intricate quilting. Your sock is luscious in its colours - going to be very cheering for winter. Yeay for rainbows - a reward for sitting through all that boring car stuff?
